Always have to grab Thai food when back in the Bay Area. Khaosan was great! I had the medium spicy red curry with tofu. Tried my friends shrimp pad thai which was also delicious. Other friends had the green curry and they liked it. Everything was flavorful and delicious! Spot is in a small shopping center which got busy. Parking and maneuvering around can get difficult but good and service were top notch. My suggestion is to go early before it gets too busy.
The restaurant is in a strip mall next to a grocery store and a bakery. The place is small but they do have outdoor seating. The place seems pretty clean and they have a glass wall so you can watch them prepare your food. The service is efficient and friendly. They came back at least four times to refill the water jug. The food is good but not amazing. The green curry was flavorful but the chicken was borderline chewy. The pad se ew noodles were well prepared but the Chinese broccoli was sour and the beef was a bit dry. Everything came out fast and very hot. Overall they're one of the better Thai places in South Bay but i think there are opportunities to improve.
10/10 We ordered the Tom Kha soup , Chicken Pad Thai, chicken Satay, & Pad Se-Ew!! Everything was amazing, fresh, filling & greatly portioned for price . Our picky daughter was happy. Will definitely come back !!!! Inside is cute , with nice spacing between tables, SUPER CLEAN. They immediately served us ice waters . Very good customer service & really polite.
My group of 4 came here for a later lunch around 1:45pm and got seated right away. This is located in a plaza with parking so it was super accessible. The restaurant itself is pretty cute and well decorated, and the staff were relatively friendly and helpful. We ended up ordering som-tum salad, hang lay curry, pad kee mao, kor moo yang (pork neck) and it was a good amount of food for 4. We got 3 sticky rices with our entrees, and those all went really well with the dishes we ordered. My personal favorite was the hang lay curry and pad kee mao, although the pad kee mao was definitely spicier than I expected. The som-tum was authentic but also much spicier than I had expected. The only thing I wouldn't order again was the pork neck, only because of how fatty it was, although it still tasted good. Overall a solid Thai restaurant with acceptable pricing. Would be back again to try other dishes!
Great lunch specials. I got the green curry $16. It comes with veggies and your choice of protein, plus a drink. I chose chicken, although I think I only counted 4 strips of chicken. I chose a Thai iced tea as my drink. Everything was delicious. Service was ok, they caught their own mistake on my order so my food took longer to come out than my coworkers. Sorry no pictures since it was a work lunch. It is a small place and can get a bit noisy. It is loud when you have multiple groups in the restaurant. A true sign that this place is good when you see others eating there.
I ordered takeout online and the order was ready on time at the promised time (20-30 min), and the items were well packed. The pad kee mao with chicken tasted good (other meat options have additional charge) and wasn't too oily with a good amount of veggies, meat and noodles. The mango sticky rice was very lovely and had some crunchy rice krispies sprinkled on top of the rice, with two halves of a mango. I really enjoyed this dish, though it was a bit more on the expensive side ($14) for me. Staff member was able to find my order quickly, though they seemed a bit curt about takeout orders (just handed a bag to me and said nothing). Parking was alright given it is a shared lot, but seemed like it could fill up quickly during the evening times, there is also residential streets nearby that you could walk over from. Inside had a good amount of tables, so dine is also a good way to go. I'll probably be back to try a few more items on their menu!
I came here with my mom on a Friday evening, and we were able to be immediately seated! She wasn't too hungry, so we ordered two appetizers (the chicken satay and roti) and a pad Thai with chicken for myself. I wanted to try their mango sticky rice, but our waitress stopped me from doing so and let me know that I could order it after I finished our food, to see if I was still hungry. That was really considerate of her!! The chicken satay was well seasoned and very tender, their peanut/sesame dip and cucumber dip for it is mouth wateringly delectable. The roti was also so flaky and yummy, we took it to go and heated it up in the air fryer at home and it was as good as new. The pad Thai was yummy, no complaints there. Pretty well balanced, they didn't skimp on the protein and it was very filling. I did, in fact, end up being too full for the mango sticky rice. Shoutout to our waitress for knowing that it would end up being too much for us, LOL. We got a couple of take out boxes and ended our meal here. Khaosan is legit and has some pretty good lunch deals as well (with a 50 cent charge if you do take out).
The charming restaurant is one of the BEST spots for Thai cuisine in the South Bay. The restaurant itself is quite small but they do get quite busy during the lunch & dinner rush. I've come here numerous times with larger groups and I've always experienced exceptional service from the friendly staff whenever I go here! My favorite dish here is the Khao Soi. The chicken drumsticks are cooked til' tender. The broth is rich, creamy & full of flavors. My favorite thing about this dish is the egg noodles, which are served 2 ways, boiled and fried. The texture of the fried ones makes allllll the difference! We also tried the Kor Moo Yang, a marinated grilled pork neck, which was juicy and complemented perfectly by the dipping sauces. The Khao Mun Kai Tod, Roti, and Crispy Pork Belly were also just as delicious! Every dish we ordered was a hit, and we look forward to returning to try more items from their menu.
